ECOPLANET BAMBOO PHILIPPINES
EcoPlanet Bamboo is undertaking the forest landscape restoration of 8,360 hectares of degraded montane lands in the province of Lanao del Sur, on the island of Mindanao.
This nature based solutions project combines the reforestation of approximately 6,500 hectares with integrated native giant bamboo, Dendrocalamus asper and multiple native tree species with the protection and conservation of an additional 500 hectares of remaining forest patches. In addition it serves as a physical buffer to some of Mindanao's last remaining primary forests.
EcoPlanet Bamboo is the only entity globally to have delivered fully verified carbon offsets from bamboo. The Lanao del Sur Bamboo Reforestation Project is removing 4 million tons of atmospheric carbon and is successfully registered by the Voluntary Carbon Standard.
